Kimball actually began in 1857 as a piano retailer in Chicago, Illinois. After the fire of 1871 (which destroyed most of the company's assets), W.W. Kimball sold instruments from his home while he rebuilt his business. Eventually, Kimball began building their own instruments - starting with reed organs in 1882. They began making pianos six years later. In 1959, the Kimball family sold their business to a furniture building company and the piano factory moved to Jasper, Indiana. At one point, Kimball was the largest producer of pianos in the world - even going so far as to purchase the iconic Bosendorfer piano company. The company ceased piano production in the 1990s and eventually sold Bosendorfer to Austrian buyers in 2002.
This model 4345 used Kimball piano is a beautiful example of Kimball's furniture building experience. Finished in a rich honey oak, this traditional-looking piano is in perfect shape and ready for a new home! Come play this piano and you'll see what a great value it is!
