Designed under the supervision of an experienced classical pianist and directly imported by Riverton Piano Company, the K1 Schumann Upright Piano offers a wood cabinet, Japanese maple action parts, 18-ply cross-grained maple pin block and a naturally-dried spruce soundboard. These upgrades give the piano a much thicker, warmer sound - and a far longer lifespan than its (particle board and plastic) competition. The K1 Schumann Upright Piano also features a number of cabinet upgrades - including a hand-polished polyester finish, polished nickel hardware and a slow-close fallboard (a rare feature for upright pianos).
